Privacy
The short version: customers never make an account, so we do not build a profile of anyone who taps a tile.
The short version. To receive a receipt you give us nothing — no email, no phone number, no name, no account. We do not sell personal data, and advertisers cannot buy access to you through us.
Who this covers
Two different groups use Raseed, and they are treated differently. Merchants hold an account with us. Customers who receive a receipt do not, and are never asked to create one.
What we collect from customers
Nothing that identifies you. Tapping a tile opens a receipt in your browser. We do not ask for a name, an email address or a phone number, and there is no sign-up step to skip.
The receipt itself contains what the merchant put on it: the items, the totals, the tax breakdown and the invoice number.
- No account, so no purchase history tied to a person
- No email address collected at the till
- No marketing list you have to remove yourself from later
- No advertising or tracking scripts on the receipt page
- No location data, and no payment details — your card never touches Raseed
Alongside the receipt we record which browser and device type opened it, and how long the tap took. That tells us which handsets the tap fails on so we can fix them. It identifies a model of phone, not a person.
Your receipt link is like a ticket
Anyone holding your receipt link can view that receipt. The link contains a long random identifier that cannot be guessed or counted through, which is what keeps it private — but possession is permission. Treat it as you would a paper receipt: if you forward it, the recipient sees the items and the total.
A receipt can only be collected once from the counter. After you tap, it is yours — the next customer's tap produces a different receipt, and nobody can retrieve yours by tapping the same tile afterwards.
What is stored on your phone
The receipt page saves a small marker in your browser recording that you have already opened that particular receipt, so we can tell a first view from a later revisit. It holds no personal information and never leaves your device except as an anonymous count. Clearing your browser data removes it, and nothing breaks if you do.
What we collect from merchants
What is needed to run your account and issue valid invoices: business name, branch details, contact information, GST registration and your billing details.
We also store the receipts issued from your tiles, because both you and the tax authority may need them later.
How long records are kept
Receipts are kept indefinitely, on purpose. Tax authorities expect purchase records to be retained for years, and a receipt service that deleted them after twelve months would fail at the job it exists to do. Storage is unlimited on every plan for the same reason.
If you want a specific receipt deleted, ask and we will remove it, subject to any retention duty the issuing merchant is under. Confirm the period your own business is subject to with your accountant.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and the product is built so that we could not do so meaningfully. Offers shown on a receipt are chosen by the merchant from their own sales patterns — what is moving slowly, what is in season — not from anything about the person holding the phone. There is no profile of you to target.
Data is shared only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service, and with authorities where the law requires it.
Analytics and where data lives
We use no third-party analytics or advertising tools. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel and no advertising cookie anywhere on the site, and no third-party script on the receipt page at all.
What we measure, we measure ourselves: how many receipts were issued, how many were collected by a tap, how long that took, and which device types fail. Receipts are held in a managed Postgres database operated by Supabase and the site is served by Vercel, both encrypted in transit and at rest. Access from the public internet is limited to a small set of specific operations — there is no route by which a visitor can list or search other people's receipts.
Your choices
Merchants can request a copy of their data or ask for their account to be closed. Because customers do not have accounts, there is generally no personal record for us to return or delete, only the transaction the merchant is required to keep.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and say what changed. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
